Motorcycle Trips : 2011 - Day 7: Reach the Beach.

Today I learned about a Washington meal, called "Breakfast", consumed after waking up. Interesting.

Morning is a cool 62 degrees and sunny.
Time to get back on the interstate and reach the beach.
Parts of I90 out of Cle Elum weren't bad, but then it got to be a bit tedious. Not Dakota tedious, but still.
The closer to the coast the grayer the skies become.
Per S.G.s suggestion, a bit of Highway 101 south to Oregon was in order. Had I more time I'd follow it for days:
I finally made it to the part of "the longest beach" in Washington:
A local man looking over the bike noted, "Well, you're about as far west as you can go, unless you hit Alaska". Maybe the year after next...on a dual-sport.
A hint of fading light over the ocean as the sun sets:
I head south to Oregon, but the cold, dark road holds me back.
I'm reminded of why I shouldn't break my rule of finding a motel before dark. The police sirens that go by every two hours all night make me wonder if either the bike or I will end up missing before the sun rises.
