Rarely a day goes by when I don't think about Floyd. I remember working in the control room and Floyd would ramble endlessly about the time he "once helped someone sharpen a pencil" or ask to play a game of Hucka-Bucka-beanstalk.
I should not have been surprised that Floyd would sacrifice himself to save me - when things got dicey Floyd would often ask, "Oh boy! Are we gonna try something dangerous now?" Perhaps we should take comfort in the fact that he died doing what he enjoyed - something dangerous.
It was over 25 years ago, but I can see it as clear as the text on this monitor: He was badly torn apart, with loose wires and broken circuits everywhere....with only moments to live his last words were, "Floyd did it...got card. Floyd a good friend, huh?"
Yes Floyd, you were and will forever be a good friend.
